The CDC does not have staff in the following countries that have had cases of H5N1 bird flu in humans: Azerbaijan, Djibouti, Indonesia, Iraq, and Turkey. The CDC, however, collaborates with the WHO in assessing health situations in countries where there is no CDC staff presence.
The hardest hit countries, in terms of human cases of H5N1 bird flu, have been: Indonesia and Vietnam followed by Thailand and China.
